Well, the sand gave way

Just as the surf came in

Night birthed day 

Like skipping railroad ties

Salty sweat

Dripping down to your thighs

Evaporate 

In magenta sunrise

She said, take off your clothes till you're naked

Peel off your skin till you're dry

Ponder the lie that’s forsaken

Pluck out the log in your eye

Shed off your scales till you're vacant

Strip off your fancy façade

Bare all your bones and be blatant

Offer your fig leaf to God

Burden you

Without escaping me

Silently

When it can fade away

Tide only inches, won't filter the foam

Diving off breakers in waves

Tried treading water, still drowning in love

Rip currents drag me away
