River runs deep between

Towns that don't know where to go

Lake is like glass and the

Moon casts a shimmering glow

Delicate whispers that

Hover just over the floe

The sand

And snow

The wind

Doth blow

Shake skin

And bone

Neighbors unknown though they

Live in the houses next door

Surface waxed smooth on the

Fading linoleum floor

Blood on the ice and a

Body washed up on the shore

The sand

And snow
